Mexico

December 31

It was windy the week we were there

Today I woke up not feeling very well. I had a little bit of a stomach ache. I suppose it was bound to happen. I am very susceptible to such things and Mexico is known for them.

This morning I wandered around the waterfront. Joel and I walked over to the Oasis Hotel's beach. It was quite pretty and had some nice thatched structures. But it was incredibly windy and the waves were blowing up salt water. Joel had to protect his camera lens.

Then we walked in the opposite direction and there was a house that had an iguana farm. Ok it was just a pile of rocks that the iguanas lived in. There were quite a few. I counted at least 8.

When I got back to the villa I wanted to write in my journal. But the kids had Zorro blasting on the TV. If it wasn't loud you couldn't understand it over the sounds of the wind. I tried to go to my bedroom to write, but the noise was still bothering me. So I decided to join in and watch too. It was a very appropriate movie to watch while in Mexico.

For lunch Erin made us all quesadillas. Yumm.

In the afternoon all the gals went shopping near the villa. I was trying to find some sarongs to match Beth's swim suit and we found a couple. Erin found a wonderful lime green pants suit that is made for the beach. She was quite cute in it and she wore it this evening to celebrate New Year's Eve.

Before dinner someone made me a margarita, but I couldn't drink it all. It definitely made my stomach ache worse. Luckily Erin was making spaghetti for dinner. Spaghetti is very easy on the stomach. I'm glad we didn't go out tonight. I wouldn't have appreciated it. Though the others stayed up later to celebrate, I went to bed early.
